Math Fluency Goals

We are nearing the end of our math fluency goal period. Our goal for "standard" on our report card (which is a score of 3) was to be at +/- 6.

This last few weeks my daughter Amy has been working on a senior project and helping students meet standard with math games, additional timed practice, and additional testing times. It has been very fun to see both the students and my own daughter working together towards a goal that was introduced earlier in this winter reporting period.

Report cards will come home on March 21 and per the rubric the scores are as follows:

4 Exceeds Standard -students are at +/- 8, 9, 10
3 Standard - students have passed +/-6 and working on +/- 7
2 Approaching Standard- Students are working on +/- 4 or 5
1 Below Standard- Students are working on +/- 1,2, 3

Continue to practice with your students each day!! Some ideas for games are:

• Roll Addition -Roll two dice together--add them quickly :)
• Flash Cards
• School Website--we have many games under learning links.
• Drill Practice- Take some worksheets from school and practice in 75 seconds! *Students know they can take these sheets home to practice!
• Ask students random math facts when--eating dinner, driving in the car, or hanging out!
