I am very excited to start this blog for our classroom. I love to write and journal and I know that every day parents want a peek into the school life of our children. I hope that this will give a better view of what we DO here at school as well as a place to generate ideas for learning, playing, and working. My goal is to incorporate all of those into our daily lives at school both for the students AND for me AND have a place for YOU to see that.
Today is a great example of HOW we worked, played, and learned. It was Camp Rock Creek day! It is the sunniest day by far this week and not only did we work hard at hiking to the creek and observing nature. (It was beautiful by the way) but we also partnered and worked at being a TEAM! We cheered each other on as we played Bear-Salmon-Mosquito (think paper-scissors-rock), we flew the airplanes that we made (boy am I a poor paper air plane maker!) and we also read letters from home while we ate s'mores. Not a bad day at school AT ALL! Oh! AND we saw a rainbow that circled the sun! What a fabulous omen!
We continue each day with our classroom community and as we enter second grade next year I truly hope that the blend of technology-student centered learning-and innovation in our classroom makes a better connection for all of us!
