Tonight is one anticipated night! Students are anxious to share his or her work with parents, aunts, uncles, siblings and grandparents. We have writing on the wall, art in the hallways and work through the drizzling of the rain before climbing on the bus to eat a quick dinner and return to school and celebrate the first "almost" month of school.
I am excited to meet families and as it is my first year teaching 5th grade, I am incredibly thrilled to share with you the learning we have done so far. Social Studies- the beginning part of the Explorers-the Writing! OH the WRITING!! I know Mr. Schuster and Mr. Lange are also excited to visit with families and show off their classrooms and learning in both Science and Math.
Open House always leaves me sounding a bit like Stevie Nicks from talking so much and wired from the excitement I feel. Truthfully, it is a bit stressful as a teacher (and student) to prepare...much like getting your house ready for Thanksgiving for a slew of family members to take part in a wonderful-yet stressful event. I want it perfect so everyone can see how we FEEL and LEARN and LOVE school. I can't wait for it to start and I can't wait to celebrate and yet I still have nerves about everything going fantastic! Which, I know it will fabulous. I am just anxious!
I hope you stop by tonight and chat with us and share your child's classroom. The boys and girls are a phenomenal group this year and I am completely in awe of the responsibility, effort, and humor they bring to our classroom community and to the 5th grade community.
Stop in-see our sunflowers from science, Snippets from Writing, and our learning plastered all over our classroom! I can't wait to see each and every one of you!
Smiles,
Ms. McD
