Dentures

It seems that every day I am sending a student to the nurse for a tooth-treasure box! TEETH! If your child were to explain to you how I feel about teeth you would be like WHAT!? Ms. McDaniel can handle blood. Owies. Broken bones. ANYTHING.

Except.

Teeth.

First grade seemed to be a toothless year until I entered second grade! HOLY COW! It's a toothless wonder here in room E-3. When asked to "look" at the gaping hole in the gums of a 7 year old, I typically decline and say, Nurse Brown would love to look! OR show a friend!

I am not sure if it is the bloody hole where the tooth was, the empty gumline, the ridges of teeth poking through or just teeth in general but it is all I can do to look at teeth. With my tooth phobia, I ended up with a class full of second graders who are dropping teeth to break the bank of the tooth fairy and my own children who need me to crank an expander in her gums to widen her jaw.

Maybe the new rule is IF a tooth is "lost" in my classroom, I get a portion of the toothfairy money. I could be rich by the end of the year!
