This summer I spent many days in a GLAD training. First, it is AMAZING. I love the concepts for teaching kids and how it integrates so easily for classroom management, rewards, remembering concepts and just plain fun!
Part of this process includes chants, songs, etc. Here is a bit of a chant from our classroom about the Oregon Trail (which is part of our unit of study for Early Americans)
Yesterday was the first day we practiced the chant (You can also see we have it copied on the butcher paper so they know which part I say and which part they say). Yesterday we had a lot of mumbling, a lot of ah man! and today--voila, voices are heard baby! (sorry the photo is sideways....technical difficulties uploading t the blog!)
